Edison freshwater pearls

Nucleated Edison pearls are a variety of large freshwater nucleated cultured pearls, distinct for their unique colors and high quality Also some of them have metallic luster. Unlike most freshwater pearls, which are tissue-nucleated, Edison cultured pearls are bead-nucleated, much like seawater pearls like the South Sea or Tahitian pearls. These beads are inserted into mussels, chosen through genetic research, using advanced techniques.
The name “Edison” is attributed to the ingenious inventor, Thomas Edison, who once declared that there were two things that couldn’t be produced in his lab – diamonds and pearls. As one of the newest additions to the lineage of pearl innovations, the name Edison serves as a reminder that the seemingly impossible can be achieved. Edison pearls are typically large, with sizes usually exceeding 9mm, and have a growth period of about 3-5 years. This extended growth period contributes to their exceptional quality. The pearl layer of an Edison pearl is approximately 2mm, similar to that of a South Sea Pearl.
